Schools Refusing to Monitor Dexcom/ CGM

‌ Dex 88

Does your county/school refuse to follow your child's Dexcom data remotely, and on a school-provided device? In 2020 the DOJ made clear that this is a reasonable accommodation under Title II ADA Law. Join the movement to encourage your schools to follow federal ADA law. To share your story, email FOLLOWT1Ds@gmail.com and please see the post linked below for more details.

Help Us Help You!

caution-150x150-1‌

Our tireless mentors are a huge part of what makes Loop and Learn so special and we are all so grateful for all they do to keep up to date with rapid DIY developments and their willingness to share their knowledge.

To help them help you, please...

  • When you post a question in the group, look for and respond to suggestions that people have taken their time to provide.
  • Include as much information as you can to help get your question answered, without needing to be asked. Guidance as to what to include can be found via the LoopDocs link below.

Additionally, please don’t leave unhelpful comments on others’ posts when they are asking for help. (Empathy is always fine, though!)

A Great Day on DIY

‌ D's JPG

One of our DIYers shared this incredible win with us recently, demonstrating the power of DIY:

"My company held their annual summer get together today: big party, food trucks, bars… I had like 3 burgers, 2 hotdogs, fries, couple beers, couple cocktails, some sweets, ice cream, etc. - and this is what iAPS looked like for me and how it handled my sugars. Carbs were entered and I prebolused here and there before stuffing my face, but it was all eyeballed and guesstimated! Very, very, very happy with this and feel super glad to have made the switch to DIY AID systems. Today was about enjoying my time and not worrying about T1D, and it really worked out well with minimal-to-some effort. For reference, Apple Health shows 437g carbs added (including FPU) and about 62u TDD. The rest of the week was similar in terms of both activities and outcome."

We love reading DIY success stories and invite you to share yours, too!
